Soon after Sri Lanka gained Test status in 1981, it was Duleep Mendis and Roy Dias who shouldered the burden of the national team’s batting with many memorable knocks while Sunil Perera of Gypsies emerged as a leading entertainer circa that period. The trio came together on Saturday during the wedding of Duleep’s son. Mendis, a former CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket, is the current coach of Oman while Dias is the Head Coach of the Tamil Union. Sunil’s latest release Kottamalli has become an instant hit among the young and the old alike.
