Powerful knocks from batsman Revan Kelly and Jehan Daniel helped St. Joseph’s to record convincing victories over Maris Stella and St. Aloysious and take them into the Pre-quarter finals of the All-Island Division I Under-15 tournament.
Kelly smashed his third hundred in the tournament as St. Joseph’s routed Maris Stella by eight wickets in the match played in Negombo. His unbeaten century came off just 71 deliveries and included 10 sixes and five fours. With this century Revan Kelly took his aggregate of runs to 734. Meanwhile all rounder Jehan Daniel thundered a 72 ball 80 including seven sixes and seven fours to help the Josephians beat St. Aloysious Galle by 60 runs. Daniel has also been in prolific form aggregating 495 runs and taking over 20 wickets to date.
Left-arm spinner Dilan de Silva was the pick of the Josephian bowlers as he captured four good wickets for only thirty seven runs.
