Congratulations and our best wishes to Sanjeeva Abeygoonewardena and his team in planning and execution of events and activities on behalf of St. Peter’s College Old Boys’ Union for the distinct pleasure of all Peterite Alumni in Sri Lanka and throughout the world. The OBU was first formed in 1927, under the distinguished patronage of Rev. Fr. D.J. Nicholas Perera, first Rector of St. Peter’s College Colombo.The 94th Annual General Meeting of SPC-OBU took place on 2 July 2023 at the D.J. Nicholas Perera Hall. Sports star of yesteryear Sanjeeva Abeygoonewardena was elected president for the ensuing year 2023/2024. His erstwhile father, the late Camillus Abeygoonewardena (Formerly DIG Traffic, Sri Lanka Police) was elected president of SPC-OBU in 1993, thirty years ago. He served in this post with distinction till 1996.This is the first time that father and son have been elected president of SPC-OBU in its history. All Peterites round the world would acknowledge this memorable milestone that is carved in stone. Congratulations to Sanjeeva as he takes over the stewardship of the pro-active Old Boys’ Union.
The proceedings began with Holy Mass concelebrated by the Rector, Rev. Fr. Rohitha Rodrigo, Rev. Fr. Priyasad Aravinda, Rev. Fr. Shiresh Emmanuel and Rev. Fr. Srian Ranasinghe – OMI, followed by the traditional breakfast hosted by Rev. Fr.
